placescape was commissioned by Fáilte Ireland to support and strengthen Eyre Square District, a business-led traders association in the heart of Galway City, through the development of a tailored Strategic Neighbourhood Plan.

Aligning with the objectives of the Galway City Destination Experience & Development Plan (DEDP), we worked closely with local businesses and city stakeholders to clarify the future role and purpose of Eyre Square District Association and identify how the area could become better connected, coordinated and animated throughout the year.
Our final Strategic Neighbourhood Plan established a clear direction around three priority themes - strengthening collaboration between the full business mix in Eyre Square, developing a more distinctive destination identity and better connecting the district with the wider city. Alongside a practical action plan, we also developed recommendations for future coordination, governance, funding and resourcing to support longer-term delivery.
